This week we learnt that God made sheep, and the wool that comes from them.

This is a great theme for exploring the character of God with your toddler because there are so many references to sheep and shepherds in the Bible (even though I’m not entirely sure that a toddler can grasp this sort of abstract thinking, I assume familiarising these concepts at this age is still helpful). We used Luke 15 – the Lost Sheep – and John 10 – the Good Shepherd – to talk about God’s provision, protection, salvation and love.

“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.”  (words of Jesus) ~ John 10:14-15
